In reply to Mountain Trekker. My Perwin 17 was on sale for 21 dollars. I goo the 1st one and ordered another, so impressed was I. I slashed my hand and thumb. I stabbed my leg. The saw blade works on bone. After I got all the blades open, I pinched my skin in the device and my profuse bleeding had to be staunched with a zip tie.

I bought an Appalachian Trail multi tool and have been using it 11 years. It came with a folding knife and camouflage carrying case. I paid five bucks for it at a discount store that sells stock from big stores that have too much inventory.
What a deal.
I keep it in my backpack at all times when I travel around Vietnam by motorcycle.
I also have a victornox multi tool. What a combo.

I would never carry a multi tool that does not have a file.
I spent four years alone in the mountains often going over 100 days without ever seeing another mans footprints.
